Cloud Team Lead, HP SitePrint

Jan 2024 — Present

I lead the cloud squad behind a global SaaS platform — the kind where your backend must stay in sync with firmware running on autonomous hardware in the field. That means event-driven architecture, strict release coordination between cloud and device, and zero tolerance for downtime.

Architect

Design event-driven microservices on AWS Lambda with SQS/SNS orchestration and DynamoDB modelling, owning API contracts that stay backward-compatible with device firmware versions.

Ship

Run continuous delivery with feature flags and automated pipelines — safe multi-sprint deployments to production with zero unplanned downtime.

Lead

Lead a cross-functional squad end-to-end: refinement, sprint planning, code review, production monitoring, retrospectives, and stakeholder coordination across QA, DevOps, and product.

Scale

Automate engineering overhead — release notes, localisation, onboarding — cutting manual work by ~50%. Built onboarding docs that significantly reduced new-hire ramp-up time.

AI

Pilot custom AI agents to automate engineering workflows — JIRA ticket creation, code review assistance — and use GitHub Copilot daily. Now sharing these practices with other teams.
